Golf Course Renovation
Paramount hired the legendary golf course architect Jim Urbina to create a Master Plan for our prized Tillinghast golf course. Jim worked under Tom Doak for 17 years and was an integral part of the work done at Pacific Dunes, Ballyneal and Sebonack. He recently co-designed Old MacDonald, the fourth course at the Bandon Dunes Resort, with Tom Doak. Old MacDonald opened in the summer of 2010 and has been brilliantly received – it is certain to be recognized as one of the top courses in the country. Jim has consulted with many of the finest classic golf courses in the world including San Francisco Golf Club (ranked #11 in the nation by Golfweek), Garden City Golf Club (#18), Pasatiempo Golf Club (#30), Yeaman’s Hall (#39), The Valley Club (#41), and White Bear Yacht Club (#60). Paramount is fortunate to have been able to get Jim to come to the east coast. Jim is highly-selective about which projects he works on and fell in love with our course when he visited Paramount. We are excited to have engaged such a world renowned and experienced golf course architect to assist Paramount in its restoration. Jim was named the 2010 golf architect of the year by Golf.com and PlanetGolf.com.
