PGA Teaching Professional - Mr. Michael Jackmack

Michael grew up in Naples, Florida. If the sun was up he was outside. He started playing competitive golf at the age of nine, turned pro at age 22. Up until the age of 27 he played golf left handed, and then did something unusual; he switched to right handed. This was 5 years into his professional career. Currently he plays all his competitive golf right handed. Michael is among few professionals throughout the country who has won professional golf tournaments both left and right handed.

This unique experience has provided him with invaluable knowledge as player and instructor. By relearning how to play golf as an adult, from switching left to right handed in the middle of his career, he learned the importance of patience, encouragement, clear communication and the need to have and provide correct information. Throughout his professional career he has had the opportunity to work with and learn from many top instructors and players. Mike Bender, Jim McLean, David Leadbetter, Jimmy Ballard, Grant Waite, Mac O'Grady and Kenny Knox are just a few. These instructors along with others have all had an influence on his teaching philosophy. His passion for teaching is driven by the desire to help golfers enjoy the game more, and not struggle with golf. For Michael, his quest for perfection is why he continues to seek and learn better ways to help people improve their game.

Michael has been a PGA member for 23 years and fortunate to work throughout the country. His experience includes many areas of the golf business. He has had the opportunity to work at private clubs, golf schools and golf academies.
